Tucson / Pima County first market
Walk the unit on your phone before the PHA inspector does.
VoucherWalk is a prep tool for small landlords who rent to Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) tenants. You walk room by room, photograph likely fail items, and download a dated PDF. It does not guarantee a pass, a fail, or a Housing Assistance Payment.
Room-by-room
Exterior, living, kitchen, bath, bedrooms, HVAC / water heater, smoke and CO. Pass, Fail, or N-A. A photo is required on Fail. Drafts save after each room so you can resume.
Official categories, our score
Each fail maps to HUD Life-Threatening (24h), Severe, Moderate, or Low from the NSPIRE HCV checklist. The 0–100 number is a VoucherWalk prep risk — not HUD’s NSPIRE score calculator. Voucher inspections are pass/fail (PIH 2026-18).
Tucson pack
Extra prompts for cooling in 100°F+ season, kitchen/bath GFCI, peeling paint if a child under 6 will live here, egress, pests, and water-heater TPR. Local HIGH labels are marked separately from HUD categories.

- Not a claim that your PHA has approved this tool.
- Local PHAs may still use HQS (form HUD-52580) until they implement NSPIRE, and must implement NSPIRE by February 1, 2027.
